Founded by Eric Hillmar and Villiesia Heward, our journey began with a humble selection of fresh farm produce and homemade pies. Today, over 44 years later, Houw Hoek has grown into a cherished family-owned business under the care of their son Clive, remaining true to its roots while evolving into a vibrant farm store, winery, restaurant, and gift shop.
We take pride in our commitment to quality, tradition, and community. We still grow much of our own produce and have expanded to include our very own vineyard, producing a range of exceptional wines from Shiraz to Chardonnay, and soon Pinotage. Our award-winning offerings celebrate the flavors of the Western Cape, honoring generations of dedication and love for authentic, local goodness.
